The diploma is open to all qualified students but is specifically designed for students that have successfully completed a bachelor’s degree in a life science field who wish to develop the practical knowledge and skills specific to the aquarium industry.  This program’s curriculum is designed to prepare motivated students for a career in the aquarium industry immediately after graduation.  The coursework and internships combine hands on experience, practical knowledge, and professional networks that are key to entry level employment.  Career paths include public and commercial aquaria, zoological parks, aquaculture facilities and environmental education.

Technical Standards

In addition to DCCC requirements and course objectives, there are professional standards that encompass communication, motor skills, sensory and cognitive ability and professional conduct that are essential for the competent study and practice of this program.  Zoo and Aquarium Science Technical Standards  (PDF)
