The Fire Protection Technology curriculum is designed to provide individuals with technical and professional knowledge to make decisions regarding fire protection for both public and private sectors. This certificate will focus on aspects of command.
Program Requirements
Advanced Standing
The general admission requirements of the College and of the Fire Protection program apply to persons seeking admission into the Fire Protection program with advanced standing. Those applying for advanced standing must submit a copy of their transcript from NC Office of State Fire Marshal or other State certification agency for review. Other national-level courses such as those offered by the National Fire Academy may also be submitted for review. Independent Study courses will not be considered.

Students will be awarded a grade of “T” and credit hours for the courses are awarded. No quality points are awarded and the grade is not included in the grade point average.
Technical Standards
In addition to Davidson-Davie requirements and course objectives, there are professional standards that encompass communication, motor skills, sensory and cognitive ability, and professional conduct that are essential for the competent study and practice of Fire Protection Technology.
