Total credit hours: 45

The Social and Human Services curriculum prepares students for entry-level positions in a wide array of institutions and agencies that provide social, community, and educational services. Along with core courses, students take specialized courses that prepare them for working in specific human service areas, such as mental health, family services, rehabilitation, corrections, substance abuse treatment and prevention, community outreach, public health and wellness, nonprofit organizations, aging and gerontology services, youth and adolescent programs, crisis intervention, disability services, veteran and military family services, and domestic violence services.

The Diploma asserts that a student has completed key components of the Social and Human Services curriculum, covering essential courses and experiences within the human services field. The Diploma can be completed independently, providing students with foundational skills and knowledge to begin their careers in various human services sectors. Additionally, the Diploma feeds into the A.A.S. degree program, allowing students to further their education and expand their career prospects by continuing their studies.
